Welcome, yes, Stephen Cherry is still away. I, Jan Ashton, am guesting.

St Bartholomew the Apostle – Luke 22:24-30 – Sunday 24th August 2014

Need to Know
1. What’s the difference between ‘Lording it over them’ and strong leadership?
2. Is being a servant an excuse for weak leadership?
3. How was Jesus ‘like one who serves’?

Need to Challenge
1. The word ‘also’ in v24 suggests other disputes. Do you think disputes in our church as a positive or negative force?
2. Scaffolding is crucial for any building done. How are you supporting your leadership team as they build the church?
3. How many times this week have you prayed for your leadership team?

Need to Comfort
1. Who is standing by you in your trials? Thank God for them.
2. What will it be like to eat and drink at Jesus’ table? Are we practising this at our Eucharists?
3. Bartholomew is no Peter. One suspects it isn’t him arguing about being the greatest. Why are we remembering him today?
